Roof Coating West Portal

Notes from West Portal jobs

Before materials come into it, the site decides the job: in West Portal, whatever fails first on these roofs fails at the edges. 337 miles northwest means a crew, a ladder and a tarp can be there this afternoon.

Jobs in Forest Hill, Parkside and Saint Francis Wood run alongside this one most weeks.

• Solar panels get detached and reset on a schedule that matches the roofing crew.
• Gutters are pulled and refitted where they block a proper drip edge.
• Gutters are pulled and refitted properly instead of being crushed by a ladder.
• Dry-in happens the same day the old roof comes off; nothing sits open overnight.
• Solar gets detached and reset by a licensed crew, not improvised around.

Scheduling before the rains means the whole job happens on dry decking. If a repair solves it, we quote the repair instead of selling a replacement.

How we run the job in West Portal

The site is cleaned daily, and the last magnet pass happens before the crew leaves.

• Payment is tied to progress, not demanded up front.
• Workmanship coverage is ours to honour, and we are still here to honour it.
• You get a text when the crew is coming and a walk-through when they are done.
• Drip edge and starter course get installed properly - that is half the wind resistance.

Notes from West Portal jobs

Across San Francisco County, West Portal has its own wear pattern, because the same three details cause most of the leaks we are called out for. West Portal is around 337 miles northwest of the shop, which keeps scheduling simple.

We are often working Forest Hill, Parkside and Saint Francis Wood in the same week, which keeps costs sensible.

• Skylights are flashed new rather than reused, because that is where the next leak starts.
• Material is delivered the morning of the job, not left on the driveway for a week.
• Permits and inspections run through the local building department, and we pull them rather than leaving it to you.
• Satellite dishes and A/C line sets are re-flashed, not just set back down.
• Solar gets detached and reset by a licensed crew, not improvised around.

The crews fill up fast when the first storm is on the ten-day forecast. The inspection is free, and so is the second opinion if you already have a quote.

What separates a good job from a cheap one

Ice-and-water goes in at the valleys and penetrations even though it rarely freezes here.

• You get the manufacturer warranty on the materials and ours on the workmanship, both in writing.
• Plants and pool equipment are covered before tear-off begins.
• One person runs your job and answers the phone the whole way through.
• Weather delays are called early rather than left to surprise you.
