Corrugated and ribbed panels use exposed fasteners and cost less per square. They are a sound choice for garages, workshops, agricultural buildings and commercial roofs, and the exposed screws mean the gaskets become a maintenance item every couple of decades.

Coatings decide how long the color lasts

Two panels can look identical on the truck and age completely differently. The paint system is why. A PVDF (Kynar) finish holds its color and gloss far longer under UV than a cheaper polyester coating, which is the difference between a roof that still looks right at year twenty and one that has gone chalky and faded.
