SHINGLEROOFING

Why Irwindale roofs wear the way they do

Ask any crew that works Los Angeles County and they will tell you the same thing - the same three details cause most of the leaks we are called out for. Being 18 miles east of Irwindale, we can be on the roof before the next rain band arrives.

Jobs in Baldwin Park, Azusa and West Covina run alongside this one most weeks.

• Chimney and wall flashings are replaced, not painted over with sealant.
• Gutters are pulled and refitted properly instead of being crushed by a ladder.
• We photograph every penetration before and after, so the file shows the work.
• Skylights are flashed new rather than reused, because that is where the next leak starts.
• Access gets planned first - driveway, staging, dumpster placement - so the street stays usable.

A roof opened in winter costs more and risks more, so we plan around the forecast. If a repair solves it, we quote the repair instead of selling a replacement.

The parts people ask about

Keep the paperwork: it transfers if you sell the house.

• Financing exists if you want it, and nobody pushes it on you.
• Ridge venting goes in where the roof line allows it, with proper intake at the eaves.
• Change orders are discussed before anything is done, not billed afterwards.
• Drone shots cover the steep sections, and the rest is checked on foot.

Local conditions in Irwindale

The short version for Irwindale: dry heat shrinks sealants until the details let go. 18 miles east means a crew, a ladder and a tarp can be there this afternoon.

We are in Baldwin Park, Azusa and West Covina constantly, and the housing stock is much the same.

• Material is delivered the morning of the job, not left on the driveway for a week.
• Solar gets detached and reset by a licensed crew, not improvised around.
• Access gets planned first - driveway, staging, dumpster placement - so the street stays usable.
• Permits and inspections run through the local building department, and we pull them rather than leaving it to you.
• Gutters are pulled and refitted properly instead of being crushed by a ladder.

Summer is for planned work; winter is for emergencies nobody planned. Ask for the inspection, keep the report, and decide in your own time.

Details that decide a Irwindale roof

We do not ask for large deposits before material is delivered.

• Workmanship coverage is ours to honour, and we are still here to honour it.
• We photograph every slope and penetration so you see what we see before deciding anything.
• Change orders are discussed before anything is done, not billed afterwards.
• Ice-and-water goes in at the valleys and penetrations even though it rarely freezes here.
